Pink and Red

I have stated before that I am not a huge fan of pink. It seems to be the "go-to" color for every female on the planet. Pink cell phones, pink hats, pink shirts, pink everything! Maybe I feel this way because I go to a university with an active sorority population, maybe not. I have to admit that at one time I was the occupant of a VERY pink bedroom. Like, pepto-bismal pink. Needless to say it was intense and I am really all about intense. So maybe this is my exception to my pink rule: it needs to bring it. If you're going to do it, do it right.

Anyway, Valentines day is coming up soon which is the day of pink and red. It also is full of cupids, cheesy poetry, bad americanized italian food and crappy candy. I think it's time that we put the life back into this holiday!

Decorate with pink and red like you mean it!

Make some cupcakes! Don't you love this take on a classic?

Break out that 80s dress in the back of your closet! (Or buy this awesome number)

If you're ambitious like Sweetapolita, make something beautiful.

No more half-a*$ing it (sorry mom, you can wash my mouth out with soap later). I plan on facing Valentines day like a man! Handmade Valentines cards, cupcakes and a red and pink explosion. No more renaissance cupids, cheapy doilies and kiss-me-cupid buttons. It's all or nothin'.
